Gas utility companies must adopt the FERC chart of accounts for gas utilities per Title 18 of the Federal Code of Regulation (CFR). Many utilities have both gas and electric lines of business, however, and are faced with the challenge of allocating the common cost of facilities, administration, and joint customer costs, such as call centers costs and meter reading.

For rate cases, UFA delivers top-down and bottom-up data views so you can see any level of detail necessary to answer data requests and prepare support for rate adjustments.

HPC UFA also lets you easily allocate common utility costs separately from SAP FICO, so you can fully distribute A&G and customer accounts according to your regulator’s requirements. In addition, results from effort studies can be incorporated into the allocation tables of UFA’s translation tables, so that only costs that may be allocated are actually allocated.
